Structured turns your day into a visual timeline: every task and event in order, colour coded, on iPhone, Android, Mac, Watch and the web. The core is free; repeating tasks, calendar import and the AI planner are Pro, sold as a monthly or yearly subscription or a lifetime purchase, priced by region.
Daily Captain does not draw your day. It asks what the day is for: up to seven goals in the morning, one check at midday, an honest count at night, with one person who sees your week. 8 free days, then $9.99 a month, no free tier.
If you want to see your hours laid out, Structured is a good and inexpensive way to do it. If your problem is not the hours but knowing whether the day moved you toward a goal, Daily Captain.

A timeline answers "when". A goal sheet answers "whether".
Structured is honest about what it is: time blocking made simple. You give every task a slot and see the day at a glance. That helps a lot of people, especially anyone who loses track of time.
Daily Captain skips the slots. It asks one question of each line: does this move me toward what I want? Seven lines at most. When the day slips, and it does, there is no timeline to redraw, only a list to be honest about at night. Then you write tomorrow’s first goal and it becomes goal one of the next day.
One price, everything in it
Structured’s free tier is generous, and Pro is cheap. What people who leave it mind is where the line sits: repeating tasks and calendar import are behind it. Daily Captain has no line. Nothing is behind a second wall, because nobody is on a free tier. That is the honest trade: we cost more than Structured Pro, and we have no free version at all.

Structured has no social feature, by design. Daily Captain has exactly one: you send your week to one person and they answer. It is the reason most people keep filling in the sheet after the first week.

We read the 60 most recent critical App Store reviews of Structured (June to September 2026) and its Google Play reviews on 22 Sep 2026. Three themes came up most.
- The features people need every day, like repeating a task, sit behind the Pro paywall.

Every account starts with 8 free days. After that it is $9.99 a month, one flat price with nothing behind a second wall: the buddy, the yearly goals, the reminders and the apps are all in it. Plus tax where it applies, shown before you pay. Cancel any time and your writing stays readable.

Does Daily Captain show my calendar?
No. There is no calendar import and no timeline. You write what today is for; when you do it is up to you.
Why not plan the whole day?
Most things do not need a time slot; they need a yes or a no. Planning every hour costs more than the thing itself and breaks the moment the day slips. Daily Captain asks whether something is important, not when you will do it.
Why goals instead of to-dos?
Because being busy is not the same as getting closer. A to-do list holds everything you could do; a goal sheet holds the few things that move you toward what you want, and asks at night whether they happened.
Why does someone else see my week?
Because being seen works, the way people work harder in a library than alone at home. One person who knows what you set out to do is enough. They see exactly what you wrote, and only when you send it.
